WELCOME TO Gordon Gottlieb's FUNDRAISING PAGE
When I started participating in the AIDS Walk back in the 1990s, it felt very, very personal.
Today, if feels very, very communal. Even though we have made progress in terms of diagnosis and treatments, there are still 25,000+ people in Massachusetts living with HIV/AIDS right now, and1 in 4 new infections are among young people ages 13 - 24.
The AIDS Walk raises much needed funds for the AIDS Action Committee, which provides testing, education, and prevention resources to help combat these statistics. Their programming targets populations most at risk, including homeless youth through the Youth on Fire program. They also provide HIV testing, counseling, peer support and numerous other programs and services that are vital to ending the epidemic. In recent years, they have been a client of mine, so I’ve seen up close how much important work they do.
